Vectors vs. Bitmaps

We get this question asked frequently. It is important to choose what is best for your project to find what better fits your needs. Vectors are a good choice when working with printed materials, vinyl decals or large signs. Bitmaps are good for embroidery, websites and photos.

If you resize a vector image it will always look sharp, if you resize a bitmap the quality will be affected by the amount of pixels it contains.

Vectors can be resized infinitely without any loss of quality while bitmaps are limited to their set resolution.

Which one is better?

It all depends on the project, it is preferable to have vectors in most cases but the approach is not always practical, photos for example should always be bitmaps while typography and shapes should be in vectors to achieve better results.
