What is domain privacy?

Domain privacy hides your personal information from the public in the WHOIS internet domain directory and helps protect against spam, scams, domain hijacking and unwanted harassment.

Domain privacy adds a layer of protection between you and the public, for safety and privacy.

When you register a domain name, your first and last name, address, phone number and e-mail address are required for all persons involved in the handling of the domain name, the ICAAN has set rules on how and when a domain name has to be validated, renewed and updated. A domain that is not actively monitored or validated can lose its registration.
